1. Introduction
Refractory silicon carbide kiln shelves, also known as carborundum, is a compound of silicon and carbon with a chemical formula SiC. is made through high temperature sintering, adopting the higher quality raw materials. It has characteristics of stable performance, excellent thermal shock resistance, oxidation resistance, long life, thin volume but high bulk density. Its good thermal conductivity can assure to save energy at maximum level.
Refractory silicon carbide kiln shelves is distinguished by high strength that stays nearly constant up to very high temperatures (1500° C), maintaining that strength over long periods.
This material displays an extremely high corrosion resistance in acidic and basic media, and this too is maintained up to very high temperatures. These properties are outstanding among high-temperature ceramics, and are complemented by high thermal shock resistance, high thermal conductivity, high resistance to wear, and hardness close to that of diamond.
2. Usage:
1.) Side wall Electrolyzer cell chemical-industrial reaction pot.
2.) Used as Kiln shed board, slide push board, sagger, Tuyere combined bricks.
3.) Used in blast furnace belly, Bosh and lower stack, cooling wall, rubbish burning furnace and boiler.
