1. Introduction
Cordierite pizza stone is made of special formulation of the highest quality and food grade cordierite,it can stand temperature as high as 1400℉ with excellent thermal stability which is much higher comparing to normal ceramic stone.This stone is durable for years,it would not crack under this temperature.This stone is great gift packaged with thick foam surrounding the stone.No need to worry about breakage in transit.
What is cordierite:it is one kind of refractory material that with the lowest expansion coefficient.The cordierite stone would not break when temperature changes suddenly and in a wide range.Cordierite is widely used in kilns because of it's advantage of high temperature resistance and thermal stability.You can also find that the wall and floor of professional brick ovens are built from cordierite type of products.
Seasoning or conditioning your stone in any condition is not required.
Can be used in oven(even brick oven,but not a microwave oven)or on most style of grill(gas or charcoal)directly and as a heat deflector.Just confirm the size is suitable.

4. Using Tips
How to use and clean 
Fully preheat the stone before baking,we recommend at minimum 500℉.

  1. For home oven,it may take about 40-60 mins(depends on the performance of the oven).
  2. Placing the stone on bottom,middle or top rack is available.
  3. If using a grill,preheat to 500℉ takes about 30 mins.
  4. When the stone is hot enough to bake,dusts the pizza peel with cornmeal or other flour before putting the dough on it,and then transfer the pizza to the hot stone.                                       
  5. Upon receiving your stone,use wet clean light towel to clean the stone and then dry it.
  6. After baking,sweep away the cornmeal or dough particles.
  7. Scraping away the residue with flat and dull metal scraper or brush when the stone is still warm.
  8. If there is still residue sticks on the stone,please soak your stone in hot water and clean away the residue after they are soften.
  9. Running the self-cleaning cycle of your oven will helps cleaning the stone.

Other key points:

1. Do not cut pizza on the stone.(It will hurt your cutter and leave scratches on the stone)

If your stone is saturated with water,please don't place it on fire or hot oven directly. There is a chance that the stone would crack but the probability is not high.

2. Please don't place oil, sauce,cheese directly on the stone.Just place the oily food(such as Chicago Deep-dish, Sicilian pizza as well as meat, Vegetables,etc.)in metal container(baking sheet, pan or skillet,etc.)or on parchment paper before placing on the stone.
